Tillman Gerngross - Venture Partner

Summary:
Dr Gerngross joined SVLS in 2006. He is involved in the review of investment opportunities in the therapeutic protein and antibody space as well as evaluating new startup opportunities.

Prior Experience:
Dr. Gerngross was a co-founder of GlycoFi, Inc. (SVLSF III) and served as the company’s Chief Scientific Officer until its acquisition by Merck and Co in June of 2006. He continues to serve as Glycofi's (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Merck) chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board and as an advisor to Merck's World Wide Licensing and External Research organization. In addition, Dr. Gerngross holds faculty positions at the Engineering School at Dartmouth College, as well as the Departments of Biology and Chemistry.

Qualifications:
Dr. Gerngross is a native of Austria where he obtained a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the Technical University of Vienna. From 1989-93 he was a visiting scientist and later Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT. Currently, he is the Co-founder and CEO of SVLSF IV company ADiMaB.
