First investment: 2001 - Seed
AcuFocus is based in Irvine, CA, AcuFocus is developing an implantable corneal in-lay for correction of presbyopia.
AllianceCare: US
First investment: 2000 - Start Up
AllianceCare is based in Boynton Beach, FL, a senior healthcare provider of nursing and physician housecall services, rehabilitation therapy and home health services through 20 branch offices and over 150 senior communities located in Florida, Texas and Ohio. The “At Home” merger also added private duty home care services in MA, IL, DC, MD, GA, and PA.
Cadent Technologies: US
First investment: 2000 - Early Stage
Cadent is based in Carlstadt, NJ and has developed proprietary computer aided design (CAD/CAM) applications for the orthodontist and dental markets, which are deployed via a web-based service model on a pay per use basis.
CardioFocus: US
First investment: 1999 - Early Stage
CardioFocus is based in Marlborough, MA and has developed a catheter based approach using laser energy with visualization focused on atrial fibrillation.
Cellzome: Germany
First investment: 2001 - Start Up
Cellzome is a drug discovery company building a R&D pipeline in chronic diseases by leveraging its unique drug proteomics engine. The business is based in Heidelberg, Germany and Cambridge, UK.
Cognis: Luxembourg
First investment: 2001 - Buyout
Cognis is a global supplier of specialty chemicals using renewable, bio-degradable,natural oils as the key raw material base. Customers include international manufacturers of cosmetics, vitamins and nutritional supplements and homecare products as well as a broad range of industrial customers.
Oxagen: UK
First investment: 2000 - Expansion
Oxagen, based in Oxford, UK, is a biopharmaceutical company building a novel drug pipeline based on targets validated in man through its genetic platform. Oxagen’s work is focused in inflammatory and metabolic diseases.
Quick Study Radiology: US
First investment: 2000 - Start Up
QSR based in St. Louis, MO, sells comprehensive digital imaging services to community hospitals and imaging centers. The company integrates, manages and supports clinical and data systems for customers with a focus on underserved small and secondary city locations.

First investment: 2005 - Early Stage
Alba is based in Baltimore, MD, is focused on the development and commercialization of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of inflammatory and immune mediated diseases. Alba’s technology provides the ability to transiently open or close internal barriers such as the intestinal mucosa. Alba is applying its technology to develop treatments for celiac disease and other autoimmune conditions.

First investment: 2006 - Early Stage
AqueSys is based in Duluth, GA; AqueSys (TIF company) is developing an innovative approach to reducing intra-ocular pressure to treat glaucoma.
Archemix: US

Archemix is based in Cambridge, MA, developing nucleic acid aptamers for therapeutic indications, building on a broad IP portfolio acquired from Gilead/Nexstar.
CHF Solutions: US
First investment: 2005 - Expansion
CHF is based in Brooklyn Park, MN and has developed a mechanical pump/filter system to remove excess fluid from patients with acute de-compensated congestive heart failure. The product has US 510k clearance and is CE marked for both in-patient hospital care and out-patient clinic use.
Concentric Medical: US
First investment: 2003 - Expansion
Concentric is based in Mountain View, CA. Designing and developing products to open the pathway for stroke treatment. Their first device, the MERCI Retriever, removes clots associated with ischemic strokes.
CoreLab Partners: US
First investment: 2004 - Expansion
CoreLab Partners based in Rockville, MD, provides ECG core lab services related to cardiac safety testing for global clinical trials.

Delenex is a spin out from ESBATech, an investment that was divested in 2009. The business focuses on research and development in to its antibody fragments for delivering next generation Therapeutics application.

First investment: 2005 - Early Stage
EBR Systems is developing a wireless cardiac stimulation device (WiCS) to compete in the cardiac resynchronization therapy space for treatment of congestive heart failure.
Entellus: US

Entellus is a company developing medical device therapies for nasal and sinus disease.
ESBATech: Switzerland
First investment: 2006 - Early Stage
ESBATech is a preclinical stage drug discovery company that intends to refocus the business to build a world class Ophthalmology company on the back of an attractive, proprietary antibody fragment platform which can deliver uniquely stable, soluble and monomeric fragments and compelling data on penetration of these fragments into the eye following topical treatment.

Intranasal Therapeutics, Inc. (“ITI”) based in Montvale, NJ, is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative, nasally delivered pharmaceutical products with a particular focus on drugs treating pain and CNS-related disorders for which there is proven, unsatisfied consumer demand. The company will be developing new formulations of already marketed drugs and will pursue U.S. regulatory approval using the FDA 505(b)2* regulations.

Lux Biosciences: US
First investment: 2006 - Seed
Lux is developing drugs for ophthalmic diseases. Their lead products are a Cyclosporin implant for corneal transplant,and ISA247 for uveitis. Both programs are in Phase III development. Additional programs are an ISA247 implant for dry eye and Age-related Macular Degeneration.
Mpex Pharmaceuticals: US
First investment: 2005 - Early Stage
Mpex based in San Diego, CA, is focused on the discovery and development of new-antibacterial drugs that meet the growing clinical need created by multi-drug resistant bacteria. Mpex has identified several approaches to increase the effectiveness of existing antibiotics and decrease the incidence of drug resistance to these antibiotics. Mpex’s first product will be an inhaled antibiotic for serious lung infections.
NeoVista: US
First investment: 2003 - Seed
NeoVista based in Fremont, CA, is developing a surgical device for controlled irradiation to target tissue for arresting the progression of neovascularization, the cause of Wet AMD.
Neurotech: US
First investment: 2006 - Early Stage
Neurotech based in Lincoln, RI, has developed an encapsulated cell therapy for the delivery of therapeutic proteins in retinal diseases. The first product is ciliary neurothrophic factor (CNTF) for retinitis pigmentosa and age-related macular degeneration (geographic atrophy).
